AURIN CITATION GUIDE

How to cite AURIN and AURIN data in your research

It is important to let reviewers and readers know that you either accessed data or used tools through AURIN. This allows us to more accurately understand our impact in research, as well as potentially showcase your research.

Additionally, even our most permissive licence (CC-BY) requires you at the very least to cite the dataset in any publication you produce.

Citing AURIN Data:

If you used data that you obtained via AURIN infrastructure, you will need to cite both the dataset and AURIN.  Each dataset has a unique citation which can be downloaded directly from AURIN infrastructure, or from that dataset’s record in our metadata catalogue. Once you have these records, our preferred citation for AURIN is:

This research used the NCRIS-enabled Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) e-Infrastructure to access [dataset] on [date].

This [study/project/research] used the NCRIS-enabled Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) e-Infrastructure to access [dataset] on [date].

Citing AURIN Training and Tools:

If you used one of the AURIN analytical tools or training materials, please cite as follows:

This analysis was undertaken using the [Name of Tool or Training Material], implemented in the NCRIS-enabled Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) e-Infrastructure on [date].
